Hey everyone, hope you all have a splendid holiday/Christmas/New years!

I've recently started using Tumblr. I didn't get it at first but now I love it; it's so easy to share photos, video and links there so I'll be using that a lot now for pole/photography updates, behind the scenes and anything inspirationally that I come across :)

I have two separate Tumblrs,  one for everything photography related [link] and one for all things pole [link].

Feel free to have a look & join me over there too!

also still have Twitter if you're on that as well

Hey everyone

Wanted to update you guys on the pole situation, as I think  I mentioned a while ago how I would be doing some more images for the 'Pole Art' series

I've been practicing looots of new moves and trying to really improve as much as possible so I can create some special pole photos :) I've also started attending new drop-in sessions and have been meeting lots of new pole people, which means I can hopefully start getting more people to model for me at some point too

I'm hoping do another pole shoot VERRRRY soon, I've had to put it on hold for a while as I recently sprained my wrist and now thats healed I've torn some of the muscles near my elbow! So I'm all bandaged up but trying to take it slow in order to heal as quickly as possible. On the plus side, I've been planning the shoot so when I'm all better I can put my bests efforts into it

If you are at all interested in knowing more about the moves and keeping up with pole progress, I always pos snap shots on my facebook profile here: [link] This profile started as a photography profie but pole seems to have taken over :P I do however, use this page for photography : [link]

I'm also in the process of editing pole videos to put up on YouTube, so keep a watchful eye out if you'd like to see pole business in action!

If you're interested in quick updates, I also use Twitter a lot : www.twitter.com/hannahephoto

I have a number of image ideas for the Pole Art series but I wanted to ask you what you thought about them.

I don't want all the photos to look the same so I've been trying to think of new perspectives/colours/outfits to shoot but what I really want to know is what do you think?

Are there any particular camera angles you prefer/think work best?
Any colour backdrops/background textures you'd like to see?
Any particular style of outfit?
Or maybe there are some moves you'd like to see?

Any other elements you would like to see, perhaps executed differently or to have a completely new idea tried, do let me know as I'd love to hear about what you'd like to see.

All I will say is that I want to keep the feel of the image stays true to the whole idea of Pole Art (i.e. to show the artistry of it and to show strength/flexibility/grace/dignity) I'm more than happy to try any ideas you come up with. I'd really appreciate your input :)

Thank you

p.s. I will try and get another model sometime; it's just hard as I don't really know any other polers so I just have to make do with modeling myself :giggle:

Well we had a glorious couple of days here in the UK. Everyone was feeling more positive and the sun is blazing... It's days like those that make me wish I liked Pimms

New things are happening; I've been assisting a lot recently, which has been great fun. I've been getting up at 5AM, driving to London (2 hours... if I'm lucky), working for 12 hours, driving home (2 hours.... again if I'm lucky), getting back late, having 4 hours sleep and then doing it all again the next day. Despite very long days, lots of heavy lifting on shoots and coming home feeling like I've been working on site, what I have learnt so far has been invaluable and I can safely say I'm really looking forward to the other assisting jobs I have lined up. You don't realise how much you have to learn until you work with other people who are at a stage in their career that you want to be in. Not only have I picked up lots of industry tips and tricks, I've also met some wonderful people. It's hugely refreshing to finally be out meeting people on a day to day basis that share the same passion and interests.

I've also started doing fashion shoots on location and have been working with natural light. I felt it was time to get away form the comfort of studio lighting that I have become familiar with and take a step outside my comfort zone. I'm going through the rest of the photos from the shoot so I'll have a few up here asap along with some behind the scenes from the shoot

I've actually written an article about photographic assisting for photography magazine Photo Pro, if anyone's interested it is in the March 2011 issue and I believe back issues of the magazine are available from their website ([link] if you wanted to have a read.

It looks like this:

So I assisted a photographer on a shoot the other day and who was modelling? No other than the most famous supermodel in the world... Kate Moss! :o I simply could not believe it when I was told she was who we'd be working with. Now I know why she has been and still is at the top of her game for the best of 20 years. She was very nice and above all very professional. Every single shot was useable (as to be expected), no qualms about what to do, she was utterly mesmerizing to watch. I'm feeling pretty chuffed right now that I was given that opportunity.

Anyway I'm going to try and write more blogs. I haven't really got into the swing of it but I think it's a good thing to do so we'll see.

I've just posted a new image, Viva:  [link] so feel free to have a look, leave a comment, introduce yourself etc etc
